Profit Cluster — Privacy Policy

Profit Cluster is a profit-analytics app for Shopify merchants. It reads a store's order data to calculate and display that store's own business metrics — revenue, costs, and net profit — back to the merchant. This policy explains what we access, what we store, and how we protect it.

The short version: we use order data only to compute your profit numbers, we do not store any of your customers' personal information (names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses), we never sell or share your data, and we delete your data when you uninstall.

What we access

With your permission (the read_orders and read_products access scopes), the app reads your orders and products to calculate profit metrics. We access order-level financial information such as order totals, line items, quantities, prices, refunds, and dates.

What we do NOT collect or store

We do not request, use, or store your customers' personal data. Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping/billing addresses are stripped at the moment an order is processed and are never written to our database. The app's function does not require them.

How we use data

Order and product data is used solely to compute and display your store's profit, margin, cost, and performance metrics inside the app. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, automated decisions affecting your customers, or any purpose other than providing the app to you.

Storage and security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in an encrypted, access-controlled PostgreSQL database. Access is limited to the app's operators for the purpose of running the service.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your order financial data only while the app is installed, so your historical trends continue to work. When you uninstall the app, or on request, your store's data is deleted. We also honor Shopify's mandatory GDPR/compliance webhooks (customers/redact, shop/redact, customers/data_request) — and because we store no customer personal data, a customer-data request returns nothing to disclose.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Data is processed only through the infrastructure needed to run the app (hosting and database).

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your store's data at any time by contacting us. Uninstalling the app also triggers deletion of your store's data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
